Melanie & Rhys – Manor Parc Hotel, Cardiff

I love autumn. It’s by far my favourite season, the colour changes and the cold air, excuse to wear boots, chuck on a big scarf and you’re away. When Mel got in touch and asked us to photograph her autumn wedding I jumped at the chance. Mel and I grew up on the same estate so I’ve always known her family, photographing this wedding was just like spending a day with old friends.

Rhys and Mel are the sweetest couple. They “claim” to be difficult to photograph, pfft! No evidence of that at all. But then I think the fact that their wedding day was such a laugh meant that everyone was so relaxed and had a fantastic day. They had their beautiful ceremony at St Denys’ Church and moved on to Manor Parc Hotel, near Cardiff, for the celebrations. Surrounded by family and friends these two had one heck of a party. The bridesmaids wore red, the gorgeous autumnal flowers filled the room with the best scent, and the groomsmen…well you’ll see. The certainly didn’t mind a bit of fun.
