When you’ve been together for a long time, have a home and children together, it’s hard to prioritise yourselves as a couple. You’re seen as Mummy and Daddy, you work and come home to chores, you have no time to be poorly and very little time to actually spend together. This is why family weddings like this one will always be my favourite type – Mummy and Daddy get the chance to just be Carla and Pad again. The children are entertained, there are many hands to help out, and you get to have some time celebrating “you” with your family and friends. Thankfully Canada Lodge and Lake was the perfect venue for the perfect wedding.

Ella and Niall stole the show with their roles as page boy and flower girl, but Carla and Pad scrubbed up well. Surrounded by an extremely tight knit group of friends they had the BEST day. I don’t think I’ve seen so many people crying from laughter before. The shots were flowing, the bar ran out of vodka and rose wine, the dance floor was packed… and some shoulders were decorated with socks… best not ask!

This one was a long time coming, with postponements due to COVID, Carla timed it perfectly so that it was rescheduled so that there could be dancing – it was absolutely worth the wait. Here are some highlights from the day.
