Alternative wedding – Emma & Ian
The couple
The opportunity to photograph a wedding is an absolute blessing. When a couple trusts you and your eyes to immortalise their big day, it’s not a daunting task, it’s a privilege. Emma contacted me to discuss her wedding with the lovely Ian, telling me it was to be personal, fun and individual to them. She wasn’t wrong! Emma and Ian are the ultimate sweethearts. He’s been her rock, her soul and constant support. She’s his everything, the mother of his children and the love of his life. These two are meant to be and it’s obvious through the images we were lucky enough to capture for them that they are connected through every part of their lives. Their alternative wedding style perfectly suited them, loads of fun, colour and creativity all hosted at The Manor, Yeovil.
Family and Friends
Ian and Emma have a close tight knit group of friends and supportive family. Everyone came together to decorate, plan and give them one cracking day of celebration. The singers for the day were Emma’s close friends, Emma’s sister and mermaid of honour was her absolute rock all morning, and the amazing groomsmen helped Ian with his nerves making sure he got to his place at the top of the aisle in one piece. The Grooms troop also provided me with a lot of Welsh related banter and smiles the whole day!
The Theme
Their main theme was love. It was almost impossible to not take a photo of their guests smiling because everyone was clearing having such a fantastic time. These two are incredibly lucky to be surrounded by a great group of friends who know how to have fun. They were surrounded by colour – the confetti was an explosion of colour, the bridesmaids dresses, and the bride’s hair created an accent to catch the eye.
This will be one to remember. Massive thanks to all of their family and guests for being so welcoming, to Rowan and Isaac for being excellent little page boys, and to Ian and Emma themselves for being a lot of fun.
